The Wired-in Story

Wired-in Software are a LabVIEW and Test Systems manufacturer based in Australia.

In 2013, Wired-in Software was founded by experienced systems integration engineer and Certified LabVIEW Architect Chris Farmer. His vision was founded upon a desire to produce world-class, intelligent test and measurement solutions that would help local manufacturers improve their efficiency, performance and productivity – helping them stay competitive in the global market.

Wired-in Software joined the NI Alliance Partner program from inception. Our development projects include a range of technologies and applications. We have become highly proficient working within the NI ecosystem, working extensively with USB DAQ, cDAQ, cRIO, FlexRIO, PCI and PXI based hardware, and using the LabVIEW, RT, FPGA, Vision, TestStand, and Veristand development tools.

Come 2016, Wired-in Software started using the DQMH framework for all of our LabVIEW development, giving us a step jump in improvement of our software output. We worked with Delacor to refine our DQMH approach.

Then in 2018, our commitment and dedication to improving our DQMH development was rewarded with becoming a DQMH Trusted Advisor.

In 2020, Wired-in Software got our first office in Mont Albert North, Victoria, Australia. At this point in time there was only three staff including Chris. Later in the year, we created the DQMH Podcast.

A year later in 2021, Wired-in Software progressed from being a purely software focused company to delivering turnkey automated test systems, and have now included mechatronic and industrial engineering capability to our offerings. During this time, Chris was introduced into the esteemed LabVIEW Champions group, in recognition of his contribution to the LabVIEW community.

In mid 2022, Wired-in Software started using the Bloomy EFT™ Module For TestStand for our automated test equipment solutions. Shortly after we became an authorised seller of this tool for customers in Australia and New Zealand, and we are now listed in the Bloomy partners page.

In Feb 2023, we moved to our larger offices in Mitcham, Victoria, Australia, which was good timing as we needed to increase our staff number to keep up with demand.

As of early 2024, Wired-in Software has 11 staff, and up to 4 regular sub-contractors, with customers in Australia, New Zealand and USA. Our team is delivering robust, intuitive LabVIEW applications to the Manufacturing, Scientific, Testing Services, and Automotive industries (among others), to help them collect their test data accurately and efficiently so they can make informed and fast decisions about their products. In addition, we are building automated test systems for product designers and manufacturers that help improve production efficiency and product quality.

As a proud NI Alliance Partner, each of our National Instruments certified engineers have access to a range of innovative training programs, exclusive product announcements and ongoing support – meaning our team is at the forefront of any new developments, techniques or updates occurring within the industry.

Wired-in Software have professional indemnity insurance for AU$2million single claim (AU$4million aggregate), and have Public and Products Liability insurance for AU$20million.

Chris

Managing Director / Founder

Chris founded Wired-in Software in 2013. He has 20+ years experience in the test and measurement industry, and is a Certified LabVIEW Champion. He has a double degree in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, and has delivered many projects for the Defence, Automotive and Biomedical industries. He is passionate about family, friends, and the environment, and is still delusional about one day becoming a rock star.

Stuart

Senior Software Engineer

Stuart’s idea of a good day involves coffee and LabVIEW development. With degrees in Physics and Electrical / Electronic Engineering, he has been applying nearly 25 years of LabVIEW experience to developing and integrating EOL and R&D test systems, data acquisition and processing, control and vision systems in industries like defence, manufacturing, automotive and primary industries. Dreams of traveling and experiencing the world.

Janet

Business Coordinator

Janet’s background is in Office Administration and Customer Service. Having worked within various organisations and industries such as Government, Legal, Film, Chemical, Government and Insurance, brings along a wealth of knowledge. Her passion revolves around family and sport, mainly cricket. She loves a challenge and to have a laugh. Her mantra is that customer service is the successful key to any business.

Ashwini

IIOT Product Tester

Ashwini holds a Masters Degree in Electronics and Telecommunications with 5 years of varied work experiences behind her. These experiences include Test Automation and Embedded Software Testing. She is passionate about all aspects of work and enjoys learning new things. In her free time, she loves watching movies and has a great interest in painting.

Richard

LabVIEW Developer

Richard’s background is in mechatronics and design engineering with extensive experience in prototype development and testing. Having worked in varying engineering environments for over five years with a further five years in technical electronics roles. Richard has also worked as a Process/Automation Engineer, responsible for developing and optimising control algorithms for automated systems. Outside of work he enjoys tinkering with electronic and 3D printing projects.

Abhishek

Student Engineer

Abhishek is an Industrial Engineering undergraduate currently in the final year of his studies at Latrobe University. He has a passion for electronics and computer hardware, software, and gaming. Having just started at Wired-in Software, Abhishek is looking forward to learning LabVIEW and hardware testing and applying these into future projects.

Linda

Software Engineer

Linda Goncharov is a software engineer with over 15 years of experience working in process automation involving LabVIEW and industrial control systems, with a particular focus on R&D processes and industrial scale ups in chemical processing, metallurgy, and vacuum technologies. In her exposure to novel processes, she has developed a keen interest in data mining and its application as a powerful tool for multivariate analysis, process optimisation, and continuous improvement. Linda has a passion for travelling and gaming, and dreams of one day developing her own game.

Susie

Business Administration and support

Susie’s background includes a degree in Electronic Engineering (hons) leading to five years of experience in Pre-Sales Technical Consulting and Administration in Enterprise Computing. This was followed by volunteer work in pre-school and primary school education and community sporting groups in committee administration and management roles, as well as team management and coaching. In the workplace, she lives for customer service and making people smile. Outside of work, her passions lie with family, friends, holistic health and Pilates.

Design

Perform a deep-dive of the problem space, and from this extract a requirements list, design specification, UI mockups, instrumentation selection, and electronic and mechanical design if required. We guarantee to continue this phase until you are 100% satisfied.

Quote

Prepare a quotation that includes a pricing breakdown, time plan, risk identification, deliverables, invoicing schedule, and add-on options.

Develop

Follow our development processes to provide a quality outcome. Use industry standard tools. Provide regular status updates. Track issues. Perform FAT in our office prior to delivery.

Deploy

Follow our installation and commissioning plan to minimise disruption to production. Perform onsite final integration, validation, demonstration and training.
